Birkenhead, UK - The community is left in shock after Anthony Fitzsimmons, a well-liked and respected member of the area, disappeared after finishing his shift at O'Mara's pub last week.
Anthony, 28, was seen leaving work at around 11pm on March 17th, heading towards Conway Park station. His partner, Lynn Sheldrake, received a message from him via WhatsApp shortly after, but it's unclear if he made it to the station by this time.
Authorities have launched a search for Anthony, and his family and friends have taken to social media, pleading for any information about his whereabouts. The disappearance of Anthony has left the community shaken, with many coming together to offer support and help with the search.
According to a friend of Anthony's, he was in good spirits before leaving work and had plans to spend time with his girlfriend later that night. The sudden disappearance has left many wondering if there is foul play involved, or if Anthony may have encountered an accident on his way to the station.
Police have asked the public not to speculate about the safety of Mersey Network's new fleet of automated trains, following recent posts which went viral on social media.
Mersey Network train conductor Chris Taint was onboard the train at the same time as Anthony and reported seeing Anthony sat alone on the train, the only other passengers on the train being a group of youths, who had been previously reported to British Transport Police for anti-social behaviour.
Anthony's employer, O'Mara's pub, released a statement expressing their concern and offering their full support to the search for Anthony. "Anthony has been a valued member of our team for years, and we are deeply concerned about his disappearance. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."
Chris Taint is currently organising a fundraiser to support Anthony's family during this difficult time:
